I saw Ted’s photos years ago and thought they were beautiful photos of the lake. When I moved to my new condo I decided that one of Ted’s photos would be perfect in my new condo .I recently purchased a photo of Ted’s and placed it in the hallway so I can see the photo everyday no matter where I am in my condoThe photo gives me the feeling of “0h yes everything is good in the world”It is the beauty of the lake that I cannot see everyday but I know it is only a few blocks away. The photo is the last thing I see when I go to bed at night, so I can have that image In my mind. A very relaxing image. In the morning I see the photo again and it gives me a feeling of beauty. It is like looking out a window and always seeing the beauty of the lake.I am so glad I finally purchased one of Ted’s photos. It was exactly what I needed right now to look at the beautiful relaxing photo of Lake Michigan.

We were drawn to this photo as it depicts one of the best views of the city. We also love how it captures the sense of motion and power of the lake, and reminds us of many enjoyable times walking along our beautiful Lake Michigan.

I think "Racing Tips" is one of Ted’s best images and one of the most interesting images I've seen of Lake Michigan. That's why I had to include it in my most recent fine art photo fundraising exhibition: Hope the Dark (which ran from Sept. 12 to Nov. 7, 2020 ) because I felt like the roiling surface of the water–with sails looking like menacing shark fins!– really reflected the national zeitgeist in the weeks leading up to the Presidential election. I also chose it because it resonated with me as a visual metaphor about something I know to be true from my daily practice of Transcendental Meditation; on the surface (of both a body of water and of the mind) there can be lots of roughness, turbulence, and other ups and downs. However, when one dives beneath that rough surface, e.g., when I transcend below the surface of my mind and reach quieter areas of mind, there’s a very different experience of the water: there's calm. Like a good sea diver, we all have that capacity to go within and find a quieter place of calm and peace. I hope that as a nation, we can also find that deeper, more peaceful place. I thought this image was a good reminder about the difference between surface turbulence and where else we can choose to go– just as is depicted in so many other of Ted's more placid and beautiful lakescapes.

You have such a unique ability to capture a moment that you want to stay with you forever. Whether it is an angry sea.... the hint of a sunrise just ready to blow you away... a sunset getting you ready for sweet dreams...or a simple wagon on the beach.... a breakfront....clouds that seem to have been set there just so....a ripply abstract that ignites your creativity....your work makes me happy!! It makes our house happy! Especially in the winter when I am longing for a welcoming lake and simple pleasures like being outside in the sunrise or sunset. Your work pulls the viewer in. It's delightful!!!!

I am drawn to your photography. I live near the lake and your photographs capture what I see and feel when I spend time walking at the lakefront but can’t accurately describe.

Having discovered your photos, I do love ’em.
I wouldn’t have believed that one lake (Great though it is) could provide so much material.

We love your art because, as you know, we live near the Lake and also love it - in all seasons, in all weather. We enjoy seeing some of the moments you capture and reflect on how we might see similar things ourselves. It is seemingly endless how Lake Michigan can transform itself in such a variety of conditions..

I grew up on the shores of Lake Superior - and we still have a family camp there. We've lived in Evanston since 1976. So a love of the Great Lakes is my primary interest in your photography.

I’ll answer without thinking too hard about it. I love the Great Lakes - I grew up in the south but spent summers in northern Wisconsin near Lake Superior. I’m drawn to the horizon and the way colors and shapes and weather change.
Love your work!Susan
I really love your art work because of the different seasons it shows. I love the vibrant colors you capture of the lake too.
