A Message at the Right Time

Sometimes a message comes to you just when you need it most. Out of the blue, unsolicited, but beautifully timed.
I recently received such a message in the form of an email from a fellow Alliance for the Great Lakes volunteer and lake lover. Her name is Lauren, and I met her at an event last November.
This what she wrote:
"We sat next to each other and you gave me a calendar of your work. I just wanted to reach out and say how thankful I am for that calendar, and also how thankful I am for your work! I used to live very close to the lake and now I'm several miles away. I haven't been able to get out to see the lake during shelter-in-place, but seeing your photos in the calendar has been so wonderful and has been a way for me to keep a peaceful mind through all of this."
I am grateful to Lauren for taking the time to reach out. It’s a nice affirmation that my photos are having the intended effect.
Thank you, Lauren, and thank you to everyone who supports and appreciates my work. With any luck, it is also helping you to feel a bit calmer these days.
Thanks,
