Following the Light

With my drone, I’ve enjoyed being able to expand my perspective on Lake Michigan.
 
May's calendar image catches the sun reflecting off the water with the Lee Street Beach groin poking out from the bottom of the frame. The manmade structure feels small and inconsequential against the vastness of the lake.

I named this image off the top of my head -- or so I thought -- but then a good friend astutely reminded me that Shining Path was the name of the Peruvian revolutionary communist party and terrorist organization from the 1980s.

I prefer to think of the name as representing the bright path created on the water by the sun in a cloudless sky. The only revolution I’m focused on is the one to turn the tide on plastic pollution in the lake. Viva la revolución!
