Lake Textures

This month's image, "Soft Lake," shows breezes drifting across the water on a summer's afternoon. But other times, the lake ripples, roils and convulses with waves and swells.

The wind keeps the surface in constant motion, producing ever-changing textures. Along with light and color, I find texture gives the lake personality and reveals the greatest range of its moods.
